Pentecost

Obi-Wan is correct that your eyes will deceive you but he incorrectly instructs Luke to rely on feelings. The senses can lie too. Without the gift of discernment you will be frequently confused and mislead. Properly placed faith is paramount. The spirit world is more real than this temporal one. It's vital we be in right relationship.

On the blink

Yesterday a firefly lighted on my hand. I gathered it was trying to tell me something as I walked. Cheerfully it relayed information knowing I would be interested. When it flew off I still didn't understand  but I knew whatever the news it must be good.  Last night the air was filled with lightning bugs blinking, more than I have seen in well over a decade. They seem to be making a comeback. I was delighted as the messenger glowfly knew I would be and standing on the porch I reminisced about childhood days running about the yard catching them in the evenings of early summer.

Restless

I take walks everyday but this morning it was almost as if I couldn't stop walking. No sooner had the dogs and I returned to the house then I was calling them to go back out. What was I hunting? As I walked the same old paths and roads I felt as though I was seeking something, another path, a mysterious path, one that would go on and on but to what? I kept to the high ground knowing what I was seeking would require a more adventuresome spirit, one that would propel me into the woods down through the ravine.  I would need a machete, brier resistant pants and boots. An overcast sky kept heat down but moisture hung in the air. It would be a melting experience. I wasn't up for it, not today. I'm back inside. I tried reading, practicing music, crossword, exercise, cleaning but nothing satisfies.  I pace.
